Today’s Saturday Song Share is a guest post! My friend Tenia sends me songs sometimes throughout the week, and I asked her if she would be willing to pick a couple for today and share a little. If you haven’t heard her story yet, you can find it here, where she talks about her struggles with opioids and her time of restoration at Lydia’s House.
Have you ever felt so stranded, stuck, and worthless and not know what to say or do? Cry out to God, Heaven Help Me. Cry out just like David throughout the book of Psalms.
So many times I had no words, no clue what to even ask God for. I think I really met the Lord on a farm in central Florida last year, 2022. That’s where I really began to cry out for help. I couldn’t hear God for all of the distractions from the enemy. I couldn’t feel God for all of the tensions and nervous, anxious thoughts and feelings going on inside my body. I knew that I couldn’t do anything on my own power any longer and the only One that could was there just waiting for me to fall to my knees, cry out for His mercies to help me. I needed God to tell me what to do. I didn’t understand anything that was happening, but God did. He had a plan for me. I knew I couldn’t walk down that road alone or do anything without Him. He goes before me and will be with me. He will NEVER leave me nor forsake me. Don’t be afraid, do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: For the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. Psalm 37:23-24.
I needed help to believe it, that God was really fighting for me when I couldn’t see it, when I couldn’t hold it physically in my hand. He had to show it to me and He did all of that, just like He did the Israelites when He said to Moses to tell them Do not be afraid, stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians, or my enemies at that time, I will never see again. Why? Because the Lord will fight for me, I needed only to be still. Exodus 14:13-14.
See, I needed that hot Florida day out at the farm. Everything there was quiet. All I needed was to cry out to the heavens, ask God to help me, humble myself, trust, and just listen to that soft voice rather than the roar of the lion, the enemy’s loud voice. I just needed to hear that voice of God tell me everything was going to be okay. Everything will be okay. We have to learn God’s voice and obey. How we learn God’s voice is by spending time in the word. That is how. How do you get acquainted with a friend, a co-worker? Spending time with them.
Cry out to the Lord. Ask Him to help you. You can’t do it alone. You can’t do anything without God. Be ready and willing.
2 Chronicles 7:14. If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and I will forgive their sins and will heal their land. (emphasis added)
And my friends, that most definitely will preach.

Thank you Corri for asking me to be your guest today. I was able to relate so much with that song, I feel like it tells a little more about my testimony. I pray it touches someone and that others are able to relate to it also.
